The ACGT Microarray facillity

Since July 2002, the ACGT Microarray facility has been providing a core service to biological researchers in South Africa. Projects have been undertaken by scientists from the University of Pretoria and the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). More projects from other universities are underway or in the planning stage.

Microarrays have been used by researchers at the Forestry and Agricultural Biotechnology Institute (FABI) for both genotyping and expression analyses of plants including Arabidopsis, Eucalyptus, various cereals and banana. See example projects for details about these projects and to view samples of some microarray images generated here.

Most of the current projects are plant-related but the facility is open to researchers from any field of biological science, locally and abroad.
